Dora the Explorer

Dora the Explorer Review: Both my daughters who are 4 and 5 yrs old enjoyed playing this game. This purchase was a replacement for one that they had played with so much, that the cd was no longer readable. I would highly recommend this for your little one. Great color graphics and lots of fun.

Dora the Explorer Description: Dora’s Teddy Bear, Osito, is lost. Join Dora, Boots, Backpack and Map on a journey to the Lost City, a mysterious, hidden place where all things go when they get lost. Along the way, you’ll meet Pirate Pig, Mama Bugga Bugga and Senor Tucan, and help them find their lost objects, too. Be on the lookout for hidden stars throughout the game and collect them all in the Star Pocket on Backpack.

Sports Challenge for Kids

Sports Challenge for Kids Review: If instructions are followed as printed, the offsides space on the board creates an infinite loop, not allowing anyone to finish and win this game ever. Hey, I enjoy playing games, but just not until the end of time. We fixed this on our game board by changing the space from “move back 5 spaces” to “move back 1 space”. I hope the publishers of this game update the board to fix this problem.

Sports Challenge for Kids Description: This board game mixes chance with learning all about a wide range of sports. Two to four kids use the board to play tabletop versions of soccer, basketball, and tennis while testing their knowledge of sports, from football and field hockey to baseball and bicycling.

ThinkFun Flipside

ThinkFun Flipside Review: If you know how to solve Ruben cube, and more importantly, how to find a solution to Ruben cube, this puzzle is much easier. Still it can take about half an hour to come with a complete solution. So it is a fun. The common thing it shares with Ruben cube is that both are about finite permutation groups. Searching for a solution usually starts with repetitative application of a fix permutation, which would equal identity. Then perturb the permutation a bit to get a simple generator of the group.

If you have not touched Ruben cube, this can be served as an introduction to brain teasers based on permutation groups. Forget abstract mathematics in the game. It is still enjoying. But people may lose interest after unsuccessful attemps without “theoretical” guidance.

VTech V.Flash SmartDisc

VTech V.Flash SmartDisc Review: I bought this game for my daughter for x-mas and she loves it. It’s the first game she and her friends want to play when they come over and they would play it for hours they say if i would let them. Vtech V.Smile Smartridge Cars

Vtech V.Smile Smartridge Cars Review: This game is heavily developed based on the actual movie. If you haven’t seen the movie, and/or your kid was too young to understand the plot, then they might not get the game.

Most of the adventures are based on the story plot. A lot of the adventures are a bit dumb, like McQueen bumping alphabet tires into a truck, McQueen tipping over the tractors based on counting smoke rings, McQueen herding the tractors back into the pen, McQueen driving down a long road and picking up shapes, McQueen driving down a road looking for Mack based on memory, McQueen dodging the firetruck water blast, etc. The only adventure I liked was the forklift picking up tire numbers and installing them on the race car.

Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda Review: I rented this game, because I loved the movie, so I gave the game a chance. And what do you know, the game turned out to be very entertaining. The game has good actions sequences, with more villians like the crocodiles, wolves, boars, and powerful gorillas. The storyline is similar to the film, but is slightly different as well.

The enviroments are beautiful! Better than I expected from this game title. The game also features some extras and the multi-player challenges as well. The final battle is with Tai Lung and it is the best battle in the entire game.

Major League Baseball 2K8

Major League Baseball 2K8 Review: I bought this game a while back and enjoy the game play, but the graphics are not very good at all. I am not the type of guy who normally rates a game on graphics alone, but the ones on this game are pretty terrible. The controls in this game are also pretty shoty.

I also hate the fact that when you play 2 player mode the ball cursor is still visible so it makes it very easy to hit the ball and know where the ball is going. The best feature of the game is the commentary. Overall, the game is decent, but not great. I had high hopes for this game but was quite disappointed with it, but am happy I got a good deal on it.

Amazing Adventures

Amazing Adventures Review: In this game there are 21 levels. You have different scences and must find things hidden in the back ground like, sunglasses, barrels, fans, fishing lure etc. Then after that you must look at 2 pictures and find the differences, also you have mini game sin between og jigsaw type puzzles and tile exchanging puzzles to form the picture.

The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because unlike Big Adventure Games (in Sydney and San Francisco),the latter have over 50 levels (sydney close to 100),which I find much more fun therefore more worth the higher rating and stars given. I finished this game in less then 2 days without using hints so that wasn’t worth the price compared to other Seek and Find games.

Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts Review: It me again Slagar the cruel. I thought I would give some pointers on how to beat bosses of kingdoom of heartrs II faster and more efficiently. I love this game when it came out 2 or so years ago. For those of you bold enough to try this game on proud mode or any other difficult setting which I guess is an easter egg unlocked my doing normal or hard mode. Here is some tips for killed that annoying boss from the second act to Point royal. As long as the boss is hold or touching any of the cursed medalions he is invulerable and blows won’t hurt him.

The best way to get him to drop coins is to either hit him with his own lance like weapons or blast him with what ever current form of the lightning spell you have. Pick up the coins and return them to the chest. If you are doing this one Proud mode or just wanting a fast battle this helps alot. I also recommend you use the Trinity limit attack as much as possible when at close enough rage and boss coin display reads zero. Depending on what version of the staff donald weaponj is using may determine the effectiveness of the attack combo.

Indianapolis 500 Racing

Indianapolis 500 Racing Review: The missions are very addictive. High intensity racing made even more fun with using the Wii remote as the steering wheel, controls very responsive, and the AI is VERY good, I was cursing out the Clown Prince within 40 minutes of picking it up. Graphics a bit challenging, but overcome by gameplay. The old cars are GREAT, and the crashes can be downright frightening and eerie, flaming infernos and all just like you saw in those old Indy race films. The drafting and slingshotting is intense.

The Pit Challenges are nothing more than a point and turn exercises, but at least its something different in a racing game. A very different game packaged with a racing history lesson. Does justice to the Cathedral of Speed, any Wii owner who is a race fan MUST have this game in their collection just for the history alone, the excellent gameplay is just icing on the cake.
