Merlin Electronic Puzzle Game

Merlin Electronic Puzzle Game Review: My 7 year old daughter has as much fun with the Merlin Electronic Puzzle Game as I did when I was a kid. Everyone loves to play Tic Tac Toe against Merlin, even Pa-Paw enjoys playing Merlin. I love that it helps my daughter with simple addition when playing Blackjack against Merlin. It also teaches her some logic and deduction in the puzzle games.

Also, she really has to pay attention and listen to play the game where you repeat the note patterns. I feel alot better paying this amount of money for an educational electronic game than paying a hundred or two or three hundred dollars for an electronic game that will likely be obsolete in 30 years.

Illuminated Mega Sudoku Puzzle Game

Illuminated Mega Sudoku Puzzle Game Review: It is a good “machine” although you need to keep in a certain position (angle) in order to visualize the numbers. One missing feature is that it does not tell you which game number you are playing, so after a while you may playing the same game over and over. Overall it does meet the purpose.

Illuminated Mega Sudoku Puzzle Game Review: I’ve owned this handheld for a week and already the ‘pause’ and ‘clear’ touch portions of the upper right hand of the screen won’t work most of the time — >90%. Other than that, I love the backlight feature. I would prefer that the division between the 9 main blocks was clearer, with bolder lines.

ThinkFun Rush Hour

ThinkFun Rush Hour Description: Our original traffic jam game is pure bumper-to-bumper enjoyment and the most popular product we’ve ever created. Players set up the traffic on a game grid to match one of 40 playing cards, then try to maneuver the red car to escape the gridlock.

ThinkFun Rush Hour Review: I was looking for a toy for a child who’s only interested in action figure dolls, video games, and the care and feeding of animals on a computer. When he opened his present, the look was of horror and disgust. An adult picked the game up, opened it, read it, started playing it and soon he wanted to play it too. The adult explained as he went along the goal of the game and soon the child was playing the game by himself.

ThinkFun Visual Brainstorms

ThinkFun Visual Brainstorms Review: I love these cards! My single complaint is that their quality could be better. The card stock is too light and the plastic coating is barely noticeable. That aside, these are very challenging and entertaining mind puzzels. All of the cards have an added bonus to remember a specific detail about the picture on the card or some type of associated question.

The cards can be played solo, head to head, or in group settings. Each card also has a symbol on them which identifies it’s difficulty level as easy, hard, or extra hard. The packaging has some very clever ideas in how to “use” the cards like; play “one-a-day”, add one card to a note or letter to someone, give them out to quests as “exit gifts”, pass a hard one to a teacher or superior when everyone is looking, or just hand them out when the moment seems right!

Illuminated Touch Screen Sudoku Puzzle Game

Illuminated Touch Screen Sudoku Puzzle Game Review: There must be a newer model because there is absolutely no problem in seeing the numbers. I have tried two other hand held sudoku games and this is far better. The note store feature allows you to store candidates that flash to remind you what’s what. That feature takes a little getting used to as it is not the same as written notes but after a few games I loved it.

The other thing I like about it is you can enter your own puzzles from books or the newspaper and play them on the handheld Using the stylus is easy and convenient. I have played hard puzzles on the model now and had to use extensive notes and it worked great. I certainly recommend it.

ThinkFun Block By Block

ThinkFun Block By Block Review: I am a guidance counselor in a middle school and have a number of “toys” to distract the children when they come to my office and help them unwind a bit. Some enjoy this puzzle by just building their own creations and others enjoy the challenge of completing one of the puzzles on the cards. This is easily one of their favorites and has stayed on my table the longest as there are so many possibilities and it lends itself well to their creativity as each of the pieces is completely different from the rest. The students really enjoy it and it makes their visits more enjoyable.

ThinkFun Block By Block Review: At first my 7 year old had a bit of difficulty with the concept, but once she figured it out, she loves it! The idea is to use the cube combos that come in the package to make the designed printed on the cards that come with the set. It sounds easy, but it is rather challenging. It builds spatial perception and logical thinking in a game.

ThinkFun Fifteen Puzzle

ThinkFun Fifteen Puzzle Review: I had ths “toy”as a child an remember the many hours of fun thst I had with it. I could not resist buying it for my granddaughters. It challemges the mind, and enables you to solve a “puzzle” without help of a computer.

ThinkFun Fifteen Puzzle Review: I was absolutely elated to get this game. First, it has been years since I’ve played it. More young people need to be exposed to it. The steel case makes it durable so it’s impervious to lots of wear and tear. The case protects it from damage too. I really enjoy this game, and I plan on buying one for each of the little kids and the big ones in my household.

ThinkFun Flipside

ThinkFun Flipside Review: If you know how to solve Ruben cube, and more importantly, how to find a solution to Ruben cube, this puzzle is much easier. Still it can take about half an hour to come with a complete solution. So it is a fun. The common thing it shares with Ruben cube is that both are about finite permutation groups. Searching for a solution usually starts with repetitative application of a fix permutation, which would equal identity. Then perturb the permutation a bit to get a simple generator of the group.

If you have not touched Ruben cube, this can be served as an introduction to brain teasers based on permutation groups. Forget abstract mathematics in the game. It is still enjoying. But people may lose interest after unsuccessful attemps without “theoretical” guidance.

Amazing Adventures

Amazing Adventures Review: In this game there are 21 levels. You have different scences and must find things hidden in the back ground like, sunglasses, barrels, fans, fishing lure etc. Then after that you must look at 2 pictures and find the differences, also you have mini game sin between og jigsaw type puzzles and tile exchanging puzzles to form the picture.

The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because unlike Big Adventure Games (in Sydney and San Francisco),the latter have over 50 levels (sydney close to 100),which I find much more fun therefore more worth the higher rating and stars given. I finished this game in less then 2 days without using hints so that wasn’t worth the price compared to other Seek and Find games.

Puzzle Master Deluxe Suite

Puzzle Master Deluxe Suite Reviews: This is a great jigsaw puzzle game. The feature I like best is taking an image of my computer wallpaper and making a puzzle out of it. I also made a puzzle out of a picture of my husband and myself. The game has trays that you can use to get pieces out of the way. You can also select multiple pieces at a time and move them all at once. Lots of fun.

Puzzle Master Deluxe Suite Reviews: Hours of enjoyment for the whole family! Many beautiful images to choose from. Excellent choice for a program the entire family can use. Many options for sizes of pieces, so even small ones can enjoy the challenge. Advanced builders can change the piece size, number or even the cut. Rotate pieces is also an option. enough puzzles that you can start over and never get bored, or even create puzzles out of your own pictures!
