Robots

Robots Review: Our 5 year old son has played this game every chance he has gotten. We started out renting it, but we wound up having kept it rented out for three weeks before we made the purchase. Robots keeps his interest, is relatively challenging, and like any good younger child’s game, has enough incentive to keep them playing and wanting to achieve a higher level. It has held his interest longer than any other game he has played. It’s also a game that his dad genuinely enjoys, so they are able to spend more time together playing.

NCAA March Madness 07

NCAA March Madness 07 Review: I waited until this week to buy College Hoops 2K7, expecting great things from this EA Sports title. When I rented March Madness 07, I was extremely disappointed. The graphics are very good, which is really the only advantage this has over College Hoops. I did not, however, find any camera angle within the game that captures the “spirit” of college basketball like College Hoops does. The gameplay in March Madness is absolutely awful. I could not find a way to alter the controller configuration. Unlike College Football, the controller configuration for March Madness is not easily laid out. I often found myself hitting what is usually a “shoot” button, only to attempt a lay-up from 3-point range.

Lego Indiana Jones

Lego Indiana Jones Review: Lego Indiana Jones follows the plots of the three movies faithfully. Each “movie” has six missions in it, and your goal is to make it through each level. The process of making it through the level is not at all challenging, but really is smart in it’s intuitiveness and manor. You instinctively know what to do in each level, and sometimes the challenge comes from trying to figure out how to do it. Embedded in each level are ten “treasure chests” filled with an artifact piece. Find all ten, and you get an artifact from that mission. Normally, I’m not into the side missions, or extra bonus things that some video games have, but finding these treasure chests became an obsession of mine!

Ultimate Guide To Video Game Writing And Design

Ultimate Guide to Video Game Writing and Design  Reviews: When I read The Ultimate Guide to Videogame Writing and Design I was expecting quite a lot from a title like that. As a well read veteran game designer with over 34 million units sold to date, as well as game design professor at USC, I thought I had seen every element and angle in game development. Not only that, at USC we have developed a pretty robust curriculum on how to build great narrative into a solid game. To my amazement, my high expectations were not only met, but exceeded by a wide margin with this book! Ultimate Guide is extremely well thought out and presented in a no nonsense manner, with many excellent examples, points, and tips on not only writing, but also how to survive and prosper in the game industry. I guess it comes as no surprise since this book is practically a FedEx straight from the front lines, as these authors are still writing top games, and have written a number of “Story of the Year” games over the last five years.

Video Game Invasion (2004)
