Mario Kart DS

Mario Kart DS Review: It seems just like yesterday when the original Mario Kart made its debut on the SNES in 1992. The game was a hit back then, and it isn’t difficult to understand why. A racing game that emphasizes on sabotaging your opponents with weapons like banana skins, flying shells and lightning bolts was almost unheard of then, and to do so with your favorite Nintendo characters was, quite simply, pure bliss. Not surprisingly, the game captured the hearts of many gamers then.

Fast forward to the year 2005. Fans of the series have seen a few sequels through the years, but the DS version of Mario Kart was greeted with much more anticipation than its predecessors. The main reason, obviously, is the game’s inclusion of integrated online play. For the first time in Mario Kart’s history, gamers can now take on players from all over the world as long as they’re using a wireless router that is supported by Nintendo. The game also allows up to eight players to multiplay in close proximity with only one copy of the cartridge, which essentially means that a gamer who decides not to buy the game can still perform a download play and race against a friend who owns a cartridge.

SanDisk Wii Gaming SD Memory 1 GB

SanDisk Wii Gaming SD Memory 1 GB Review: I really liked the SanDisk Wii Gaming SD Memory 1 GB because it had all the memory that I need, and it wasn’t too high of a price. I don’t see anything wrong with it that would ruin its perfection.

SanDisk Wii Gaming SD Memory 1 GB Review: Son is excited to save all of his progress on his Wii. Not sure what else to say in a review excepts it does what it is supposed to.

Alfa Romeo Racing Italiano

Alfa Romeo Racing Italiano Review: If you have read reviews for this on any dedicated game site, you will find that nobody really gave it a fair chance and rated it extremely low. It just takes time to get to the good side of Racing Italiano, or SCAR in the European market. Like the Project Gothams of yore, you must start with slower and less nimble vehicles before gaining access to the better ones. As you gain better cars, you also better your driver through the use of skill points and items, essentialy making this game a sort of CARPG, but only with Alfas.

I don’t have anything bad to say about the graphics or control. The textures are repeated a bit often in some areas, but everything looks quite alright and controls pretty good. To me it almost has a SEGA quality to it. The RPG elements are interesting, and the AI drivers get better as you do, which makes this game more realistic feeling than the others. When they get smarter, you can really see them trying not to smash into each other, since it will damage the cars.

Game Party

Game Party Reviews: My wife and I play darts on this for hours. If you shoot consistent, the game plays well. On the downside, most shots are followed by asinine shots of the patrons applauding or moaning. The shooters make faces and generally show bad sportsmanship. I’d rather just play the game than deal with that silly nonsense. We like the hoops game a lot but it is single player only. Shuffleboard is quite well done and the histrionics of the players after each shot are not nearly so annoying as in darts. There is a game where you bounce a ball into a glass. It gives dull a new meaning. There is also a trivia game which is basically pretty dull.

Game Party Reviews: Recently purchased Game Party and have been very happy with the game. Fun for the whole family. We all like the Shuffleboard, Darts, Skill-Ball, and Trivia. Ping Cup is difficult to get the hang of and you can either bounce the ball or throw it straight in the cups. Both of which is difficult to do. Air hockey is way to easy and not very realistic. The Hoop Shoot is extremely difficult to get the hang of. It seems you can never shoot the ball the same twice. Overall the games are fun and challenging.

Big Beach Sports by THQ

Big Beach Sports by THQ Reviews: This set of games is perfectly priced and all are easy to play and yet provide a certain amount of depth that can provide a competitive challenge for those so desiring some competition with their friends or family members. The game starts off with providing the standard function of creating and customizing a character for yourself. Then it is right to the Game selection menu. With a very eclectic offering of sports games all played at the Beach. Bocce, Cricket, Volleyball, DiscGolf, Soccer and American Football.

Each of these games has had some of the rules simplified or streamlined for easy and quick play. Football has taken some ideas from the backyard varient. In that it is 2 on 2, and you and your teammate alternate as Quarterback. There are no Extra Points, but an Interception counts as points for the team whom caused it. Volleyball also scores points against the team whom does not return the ball, whether it was their serve or not.

Hoyle Puzzle Games 2003

Hoyle Puzzle Games 2003 Reviews: I also purchased Board Games and Card Games at or about the same time. Since I and my three other siblings were brought up on most of these games back in the 1950’s, it is a big pleasure for me to play these games alone or against computer generated opposition. Also I love to redo a game in case I think I can make a higher score. I love the Facemaker option. So in between my boring daily chores I play Puzzle Games or one of the others. So far Word Yacht is my favorite.

Hoyle Puzzle Games 2003 Reviews: Although Slide Tiles and Edge Tiles are different than the usual solitaire games, most of the games are pretty simplistic. The maze games, although intriguing, are awkward and frustrating to play on a computer keyboard. If you’re looking for a mindless alternative to television, this is a good product.

Ultimate Puzzle Games

Ultimate Puzzle Games Reviews: Sudoku title for the Nintendo DS. I’ve owned a couple of the other games available for the DS and this one is simply the best and easiest to use. My major complaint about other versions was having to use the control pad to get to the box you wanted to place a number in. There is also a set time to beat but it does not end the game should you go over the time limit, it’s just a goal. A graph up top keeps track of how many times each number is used and in a way can guide you as to which number to try and fill in first.

Soldner Secret Wars

Soldner Secret Wars Reviews: The sheer number of cool ideas in Soldner make it worth a play but otherwise don’t expect to be blown away. Had this been released with the intended polish it could have made the Battlefield series look like a simpletons flash game. unfortunatelty the ego of the lead dev combined with the tight fisted publisher made this game still born. The only reason people are able to play this at all is because a few hardcore fans took it upon themselves to sew up many loose ends. They did this on their own dime. While they should be applauded, it DOES make for a sad commentary on the state of PC gaming.

Pokemon Sapphire

Pokemon Sapphire Reviews: I’ve been playing pokemon since the very first games came out over 10 years ago. The pokemon series has gone through some major changes since then, but they still deliver solid RPG’s that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. I’d have to say Ruby/Sapphire are the most challenging of the series, but it’s still a fun game with a lot of things to do. you could spend months trying to find all the secrets in the game and still not find them all. And if you’re obsessed with capturing Legendary pokemon like I am, this is an invaluable part of your pokemon library. It’s slightly dated now and lacks some of the features and fluff of the new games, but it’s still very fun and worth buying.

Beginner Hand Held Game Cars

Beginner Hand Held Game Cars Reviews: I purchased this toy for my four year old grandson for Christmas. It has to be the worst toy I ever bought. My grandson couldn’t figure how to play it, so we passed it around all the dozen adults present. They couldn’t figure it out either. Would not recommend for any age! I contacted the seller and was told it couldn’t be returned because the package had been opened.

Beginner Hand Held Game Cars Reviews: I bought this game for my 3 years old son. He enjoys it. It has big bottons and many game levels. It is sturdy too.
